The Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation will host its signature event, the American Heroes Dinner, on Friday, August 7, at 7 p.m., at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The annual event celebrates the service and sacrifice of America’s military heroes and brings the community together in support of wounded veterans and their families. This year’s keynote speaker is retired Navy SEAL Lt. Jason C. Redman.

Redman enlisted in the U.S. Navy on September 11, 1992, serving 11 years as an enlisted Navy SEAL before earning his commission as an officer in May 2004. He graduated from U.S. Army Ranger School in 2006 and deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, the following year.

On September 13, 2007, while serving as Assault Force Commander during a mission to capture an Al Qaeda high-value target, Redman’s team came under intense enemy fire. He was shot eight times, including a critical wound to the face.

Redman was evacuated to Bethesda Naval Medical Center, where he endured a long and difficult recovery involving 37 surgeries. Today, he is a nationally recognized speaker who inspires audiences with his message of resilience, leadership, and overcoming adversity.

He is the founder of the nonprofit Wounded Wear and the author of the bestselling books The Trident: The Forging and Reforging of a Navy SEAL Leader and Overcome: Crush Adversity with the Leadership Techniques of America’s Toughest Warriors. Redman has appeared on multiple national news networks including Fox News, CBS, CNN, and CBN. He has appeared almost a dozen times on Fox and Friends along with the Huckabee show. Jason has been featured in multiple documentaries including History Channel’s, Navy SEALs, America’s Secret Warriors. Additionally, Jason is an actor playing the lead role in The Perfect Day film and a supporting character on an episode of Hawaii 5-0.
